Their repertoire included a mix of rousing marching tunes and beloved ballads like "Little Town in the Auld County Down." The band's notable members, such as Danny Doyle, Paddy Kissane, Michael & Josie Sheehan, C Edwards, Paddy Whitty, Sean Mac, Dermot O’Sullivan, Jack Smith, Peter O’Toole, and Billy O’Brien, who carried the big bass drum, were the heart and soul of the group. Each performance showcased their dedication and passion for music.
Parades and Performances: Bringing Joy to Killarney
The Killarney Pipers were known for their lively parades. They often marched from the Gaelic League Hall to Fair Hill and back, leading All Ireland winners and other notable figures from the railway station to the Park Place Hotel. They also performed at Fitzgerald's Stadium, much to the delight of local audiences.
Dressed in their distinctive uniforms, the band created a visually striking and melodious procession. Their style and music were as distinctive as the coloured pole billowing from Howard O'Sullivan's barbershop.
